Healing Dry Flaky Skin on Your Face
Unfortunately, dealing with dry, flaky skin on our face is something most of us have had to deal with at one point or another. In the winter it’s that cold air that gives us flaky skin on our face, and in the summer it can be the desert climate (depending on where you live!) and of course, sunburn. So whether you need a remedy for dry skin on the slopes, or you’re the friend that always forgets sunscreen, or you just always seem to have dry skin, this article is for you!
We want to break down not only how to treat dry flaky skin on your face, but also what are the causes for flaky skin on the face, and what you can do to prevent that in the future. There are many ways to be preventative, instead of reactive. First, we’re going to get into our face oil serum, Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil and how we formulated it to be extremely moisturizing and restorative for anyone with dry, flaky, and sensitive skin. You may think that one product is never going to change your life, but (not to brag) we have the reviews to prove it!
Next we’re going to get into a few tips that if changed in your cleansing ritual can keep your skin moisturized instead of stripped and crying for moisture. Lastly, we want to touch on how using a humidifier every once in a while can actually do wonders for your skin, and help keep the flake at bay. Doing nothing about dry skin can ensure faster signs of aging (also known as wrinkles and fine lines) so it’s important to do what you can to keep your skin feeling balanced and plump. Keep reading for your new favorite skincare secrets!
Face Oil Serum for Dry Skin
Let’s not waste any time and get right into how our Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil is step one in how to treat dry flaky skin on your face. We know facial oils can be tricky. That’s why we spent two years formulating Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil just for you. Suitable for ALL skin types (including sensitive and acne-prone skin) Most Wanted is THE face oil for people who “can’t use face oil.” We searched far and wide seeking answers from aestheticians, dermatologists and YOU to create the perfect all-natural blend of luxurious, high-performing oils that you wanted most.
Most Wanted is infused with 500mg Broad Spectrum CBD, and packed with vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that calm, soothe and revitalize the skin. This unique blend of supercharged ingredients has been expertly formulated to deeply moisturize and restore the skin’s natural balance, revealing a clear and radiant glow.
Long story short, we spent two years researching which ingredients would bring the most moisture to your skin without clogging your pores or leaving your feeling greasy. By moisturizing properly, you are going to be able to keep flaky skin on your face away for good. The Jojoba Oil in our facial oil is one of the most moisturizing, humectant ingredients you can find. It basically creates a protective layer of moisture, and keeps your skin bacteria free, acne free (it is non comedogenic) and flake free! Jojoba oil comes from a small shrub or tree that grows in the Arizona and California desert. Funnily enough, it thrives in the driest climate, but produces a nut with many incredible properties. This nut is then turned into the more well known “Jojoba Oil”, which is a well known remedy for acne, dry skin, and many other skin conditions. Jojoba oil is moisturizing, antibacterial, non comedogenic (meaning it does not clog pores and cause acne).
These are just a few of the amazing benefits that will treat flaky skin on your face. Let us start with jojoba oil’s non-acnegenic and/or non comedogenic properties. Jojoba oil does not clog your pores because it is so similar in its makeup to the sebum (oil) your skin creates naturally on its own. Therefore, when applied to your skin, especially on your face, your pores can’t tell the difference. This means that it is safe to apply to the skin, and you will reap the incredible moisturizing properties of jojoba oil for the skin, without ever having to worry about it causing acne. In fact, it even helps control the sebum your skin makes (this is for all you oily skin types out there!) So say hello to balanced, soothed, moisturized skin. Jojoba oil is a major ingredient of our face oil serum and a major reason why Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil is the “face oil for people who can’t wear face oil”. We know facial oils can be tricky. That’s why we spent two years formulating Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil just for you. Suitable for ALL skin types (including sensitive and acne-prone skin) Most Wanted is THE face oil for people who “can’t use face oil.”

This unique blend of supercharged ingredients has been expertly formulated to deeply moisturize and restore the skin’s natural balance, revealing a clear and radiant glow. The Jojoba oil moisturizes your skin and sends a message to your follicles that you do not need to produce extra oil to hydrate your skin. This is why it is a big misunderstanding or “myth” that oils are going to give your skin more acne, when in fact they have the power to clean and soothe your skin and give you a very even complexion.
Learning how to treat dry flaky skin on your face is also important because flakiness is not only unpleasant, but also very quickly clogs pores and you know what that means- acne! All of the plant powered ingredients in our facial oil are made to soothe and protect your skin so that it can remain balanced and pimple free.
Washing Your Skin Wisely
Next, let’s get into washing wisely. Many people are unaware of how your cleansing routine can affect your skin before you even begin to apply any products. No worries, we are here to help. First, we suggest using warm water instead of hot or cold water. Both hot and cold water can feel extreme to the skin and dry it out. For a cleanser, try to opt for a cream or milky cleanser that doesn’t feel like you are stripping your skin when washing. About once or twice a week (depending on your skin type) it’s okay to use a scrub, but make sure it has ingredients that will nourish the surface of your skin. You want something that can gently slough off the dead skin cells but allows the skin to stay extremely moisturized during and after exfoliation. Next, you are going to want to blot your face with a clean towel. Scrubbing your face with a towel can be abrasive, while blotting allows the moisture to remain on the skin. After cleansing, a toner that is not alcohol based is best, because again you are looking to nourish the skin. Once or twice a week it’s okay to use a stronger toner with more astringent acids in it, but doing this everyday can cause your skin to flake.
Using a Facial Toner
Fortunately, there are tons of options for toners that will not irritate your skin, and the best one for you is going to depend on your skin type. For most skin types, a hydrating toner will work the most efficiently. Look for something that is lightweight, and can restore your skin’s natural pH while neutralizing surface impurities. Don’t worry about “too much moisture” as most experts say there is no such thing! In fact, the more moisture you provide your skin with, the less it produces oils that can cause breakouts.
If you have acne prone skin, a toner with BHA (beta hydroxy acid) or AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), (or both!) Is going to work best for you. These acids will unclog your pores, slow and prevent breakouts, and make sure your skin is ready for the next step.
Post- toner, we at The Feelist actually just go to Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil and end things there, but if you are someone who loves and needs a serum in your routine, this is for you! Serums are made to deliver a high concentration of active ingredients to your skin. So this step is very customizable based on your specific skincare needs. If you really want to up your skincare routine game, find out if your skin needs a hydrating, antioxidant, brightening, resurfacing, or clarifying serum. In the morning, a Vitamin C serum can really help brighten and lighten dark spots of hyperpigmentation, and protect your skin from inflammation.
Next on the list is moisturizer! It’s going to keep your skin barrier healthy. Moisturizer not only keeps your skin hydrated, but also really seals in the ingredients you have used previously to maximize their effectiveness. If you don’t like a lot of products on your face in the morning, we live for a light weight hyaluronic based moisturizer, which will never leave your face feeling sticky or heavy with product. Your morning moisturizer should be fast absorbing and full of antioxidants. Doubling up on moisturizer and facial oil (our next step) is a sure fire way to never see flaky skin on your face again.
Last but not least, facial oil. If you are suspicious of putting oils on your skin, let us prove you wrong! We get it, won’t putting oil on your skin just make you oilier and equate to more breakouts? Nope! This is a common myth. In fact, adding oils to your skin will actually reduce the amount of oil your skin naturally produces to protect itself, and make you break out less. We love Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil both in our skincare routine order, morning and night. Before we go on, please understand that not all oils are created equal. It is very important to do your own research to find out what oils are the best for your skin. We did a lot of the research when we developed Most Wanted, both by crowdsourcing our ingredients, as well as asking the experts. You always want to make sure your oils are non-comedogenic, which means they will not clog your pores. When you layer an oil on top of the other products in your skincare routine, you are basically ensuring that everything will be sealed in and absorbed by your skin. Oils also can easily penetrate the other ingredients you’ve used, which is why they should be applied last. We know facial oils can be tricky. That’s why we spent two years formulating our face oil serum just for you. Suitable for ALL skin types (including sensitive and acne-prone skin) Most Wanted is THE face oil for people who “can’t use face oil.”
For reference, Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil contains all of these non-comedogenic oils and ingredients to bring you one super-powered product: Jojoba Seed Oil, Marula Oil, Rosehip Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, and Hemp Derived Broad Spectrum CBD.

Finally, it is important for us to touch on the benefits of using a humidifier to keep flaky skin away from your face. The concept here is really simple - basically if you keep the air in your home more moist, it is less likely for the moisture on your body and face to evaporate into the air. Adding a humidifier into your home will prevent your skin from getting tight and dry. Not only does it have a beautiful effect on your skin, but it has a positive effect on your entire body’s hydration levels. So if you are sleeping for eight hours, not only are you going to get the restorative benefits of sleep and your facial products, but also eight straight hours of extra hydration that will keep your skin nourished, soft, and balanced.
