Here's Exactly What You Need for the Ultimate Detox Bath Soak

So you want to talk about detox baths! We have all heard about them, but really why are they good for us? Today we want to chat about why doing a detox bath one to two times a week can significantly improve your health in many ways. Besides having proven beneficial effects, a detox bath can provide major relaxation and soothe your mind, body, and soul. Getting thirty minutes to an hour away from your phone, screens, work, kids, partner, etc. can really help the stress evaporate and get you back “to center”. Let’s chat about what a detox bath soak is, how to take a detox bath, and the best detox bath salts for a purifying soak (hint: we already did all the work for you!) Last, we are going to cover what to expect after a detox bath.

What Is A Detox Bath?

Let us begin with what a detox bath soak is. A detox bath is an amazing way to release stress and toxins from your body. All you need for a detox bath soak is a great soak (with salts, minerals, and essential oils). We have done all the work and research in this department for you, and created a beautiful detoxing and hydrating sea salt soak, called Staycation. It consists of Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids (also known as 125mg CBD) which are a powerful antioxidant with a wide range of benefits for the skin. Next up on the ingredient list is Himalayan Pink Salt, which is found in most detoxifying salt soaks and is well known for its ability to cleanse the skin and support the body’s natural detoxification process. Staycation also includes Maris Sal, a mineral-rich sea salt that improves skin barrier function and enhances skin hydration. Of course, a detox bath would not be complete without Epsom Salt. Epsom Salt reduces inflammation and water retention, and promotes relaxation. It is best known for its ability to soothe sore muscles, and is a well-known resource in the athletic community. Last up we have Lavender and Vanilla essential oils, which make Staycation an aromatherapeutic blend of relaxation in itself. Lavender helps promote calmness while Vanilla boosts the mood. There are so many reasons to take a detox bath, and there are even studies that it can help improve cold symptoms. Decreased joint pain, reduced muscle pain, increased circulation, stress and anxiety relief, improved sleep and skin are just a few of the benefits of a detox bath.(We’ll get into this a little more when we discuss what to expect after a detox bath). The epsom salt in a detox bath soak can actually raise your magnesium levels, and in turn help your body dispose of lactic acid, which in turn may help you get rid of aches and pains from sore muscles. The one important thing to note is that if you are pregnant, or have impaired kidneys, a detox bath is something you will need to consult your physician about.

How to Take a Detox Bath

Let’s get into how to take a detox bath. Most importantly, definitely always keep a large glass or bottle of water nearby. Make sure you are hydrated before, during, and after a detox bath. We always like to set the mood a little bit, so lay out your fresh towels, and light your favorite scented candle (or candles!)Begin by running warm water into your tub and keep checking to make sure it is not scalding hot.Add your favorite bubble bath for bubbles and pour in one to two tablespoons of your bath salts. We recommend using our self care kitwhich comes not only with our gorgeous hydrating, detoxifying salt soak, but also with a 500mg CBD lotion called Do Not Disturb (but more on that later!) While the tub fills with water and the salts melt, consider doing a little dry brushing. Dry brushing is an ancient detoxifying technique, and many people have reported a noticeable reduction in cellulite from doing so! To dry brush all you need is a natural fiber (very important!) brush, and if you can find one with a long handle this will allow you to get to all parts of your body. Start brushing your skin at your feet and move up your legs using wide, circular motions. Use light pressure, this should not hurt. Move up to your mid-section and upwards to your armpits. Easy enough, right? This process helps stimulate your pores which in turn allows your lymphatic system to have an easier time removing toxins from your body. Now get on in that bath that smells so amazing and just relax. Whether that means listening to music, a podcast, ASMR, reading a book, or doing nothing at all, do what feels best for you. Enjoy this time for yourself and allow your mind to take a break from your stressful routine. Remember to keep sipping water throughout your bath, and besides that just breathe, relax, and enjoy. This is your “Me-Time” which uncoincidentally is the name of our self care kit.The CBD in our detox salt soak will definitely make you go “aaahh” and melt into relaxation mode. When you feel you’re ready to get out of the bath, rinse off, towel dry, and use our 500mg CBD cream Do Not Disturb to keep the relaxation going. Lather up with Do Not Disturb, especially in the areas you hold the most tension. For us, it’s the back of the neck and shoulders, our abdomen, and the feet.

What to Expect After a Detox Bath

Last, you should know what to expect after a detox bath. After a detox bath, you can expect to feel sleepy, tired, and even a little lightheaded. A few people have reported that they have light aches and nausea after a detox bath, which generally comes from the fact that your body is pushing poisonous elements out of your system (just like it would if you had the flu). If you are not used to detox baths, we recommend starting with soaking for shorter periods of time (12-30 minutes at most) and working yourself up to longer baths over the course of a few weeks. But don’t be scared or alarmed! Many people report immediate pain relief, and feeling much better right after their bath. Everyone is different and will experience variations in results. In the days after your bath, you will most likely experience decreased joint pain, reduced muscle pain, increased circulation (goodbye cellulite!), relief from stress and anxiety, improved skin tone, mood, and sleep.

Best Detox Bath Salts for a Purifying Soak

Finally, we want to chat about the best detox bath salts for a purifying soak. We are definitely biased that Staycation is the best detox bath salt out there. Staycation also includes Maris Sal, a mineral-rich sea salt that improves skin barrier function and enhances skin hydration. Of course, a detox bath would not be complete without Epsom Salt. Epsom Salt reduces inflammation and water retention and promotes relaxation. It is best known for its ability to soothe sore muscles and is a well-known resource in the athletic community. Last up we have Lavender and Vanilla essential oils, which make Staycation an aromatherapeutic blend of relaxation in itself. Lavender helps promote calmness while Vanilla boosts the mood.
